Lantronix has empowered drone original equipment manufacturers to accelerate the development of advanced unmanned aerial vehicles through high-performance edge computing and strategic industry collaborations.
This initiative has combined the Lantronix Open-Q™ 5165RB System on Module with Teledyne FLIR OEM’s Hadron™ 640R infrared camera modules, Prism™ software, and Gremsy’s advanced camera gimbal stabilizers. The collaboration has delivered artificial intelligence-driven, low size, weight, and power systems that provide real-time analytics, improved flight efficiency, and rapid sensor and systems integration.
Drone original equipment manufacturers have required powerful computing platforms that combine artificial intelligence performance, cybersecurity, and National Defense Authorization Act and Trade Agreements Act compliance without slowing development timelines. To address this, Lantronix has provided production-ready Open-Q™ 5165RB and 8250CS platforms based on the Qualcomm® QRB5165 and QCS8250 processors, respectively. These platforms have offered military-grade performance, high-speed connectivity, and more than 15 trillion operations per second of on-device artificial intelligence acceleration to support advanced applications.
The integration of these technologies has enabled manufacturers to achieve faster times-to-market, enhanced analytics, and longer, more efficient missions. The systems have provided scalable integration across multiple drone models alongside regulatory assurance supported by a North America-based partner. Furthermore, the hardware provides a fast path to Qualcomm® Dragonwing™-based Internet of Things products with development kits and customizable software stacks, while the integrated Gremsy LYNX ISR camera payloads unlock onboard AI analytics.
