The Z-Boat 1800 from Teledyne Oceanscience is an unmanned surface vessel developed for high-resolution hydrographic surveys in shallow or difficult-to-access waters. Its interchangeable sensor well allows operators to configure the vehicle for singlebeam, multibeam, side scan sonar, ADCP, or other survey payloads, while a modular deck accommodates antennas, cameras, and additional hardware. LiDAR can also be incorporated to extend mapping coverage above the waterline.
Advanced radio telemetry enables remotely operated surveying with access to acquired data in real time. Optional autonomous operation and onboard logging further extend mission flexibility, while GNSS position and heading information supports vehicle navigation. CARIS Onboard can process survey data during operations, and the vehicle can achieve speeds of up to 2.25 m/s.
