Benthos Acoustic Positioning Systems
Benthos acoustic positioning systems track subsea transponders and support data exchange underwater. TrackIt provides USBL tracking, while USBL DAT combines directional reception, range and arrival-angle estimation, and acoustic modem functions. A complete system requires compatible transponders and deployment equipment.
- TrackIt USBL System: Shallow-water USBL tracking system for up to 250 uniquely identified targets, with a range of up to 1,500 m using Wide Band C. It can operate as a USBL system, an acoustic modem, or both simultaneously.
- USBL DAT: Directional Acoustic Transponder combining acoustic data exchange with range and arrival-angle estimation. Available as a pressure-housed unit or as OEM electronics with a matching transducer; supports inverted USBL operation when installed on a subsea transponder station.
