SeapiX-FLS 7 is a 3D multi-beam Forward Looking Sonar (FLS) from Exail engineered for obstacle avoidance, navigation safety, and underwater situational awareness in demanding maritime environments. Based on Exail’s proven SeapiX multibeam sonar technology, the system provides real-time three-dimensional imaging and geo-referenced environmental awareness from the surface to the seabed. Its electronically steerable Mills Cross antenna architecture delivers wide-angle 90° x 90° coverage, enabling reliable detection, tracking, and classification of underwater hazards and objects for crewed and uncrewed marine operations.
Designed for autonomous and operator-assisted missions, SeapiX-FLS 7 integrates real-time object analysis, forward-looking bathymetry, and obstacle detection probability mapping within an intuitive and cyber-secured interface. The sonar automatically optimizes detection, tracking, classification, and avoidance processes while allowing manual configuration when required for mission-specific operations. Suitable for mine and obstacle avoidance, navigation, intruder detection, and rapid environmental assessment applications, the system can be integrated onto surface vessels, subsea vehicles, fixed platforms, hulls, gondolas, and hoisting systems.
