Simpulse has introduced the GRS-T300, a new-generation long-range tracking antenna designed to extend the communication range of its SL300-R modem for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) applications.
Designed for long-distance video and data transmission, the GRS-T300 combines increased radio frequency (RF) power, high sensitivity and optional anti-jamming protection. The system supports high-definition (HD) video transmission over distances exceeding 140 km, with a stated maximum transmission range of up to 200 km.
In UAV operations, the GRS-T300 is positioned on the ground, providing the radio link between the control station and the aircraft. Its tracking capability uses received RF power and/or the UAV’s GPS coordinates to maintain antenna alignment.
The system incorporates Simpulse’s SL300-R modem, benefiting from its software-defined radio (SDR) technology and features including increased RF power and anti-jamming protection. It is equipped with two omnidirectional antennas and two directional antennas, with the directional antennas automatically pointing toward the UAV.
The GRS-T300 supports data rates of up to 10 Mbps and operates across a standard frequency range of 2.3–2.7 GHz, with a 4.5–5 GHz option available upon request. Anti-jamming functionality uses adaptive frequency hopping.
Additional features include multiple logical links, line-of-sight (LOS) tracking, high-security capabilities and an analysis tool. The antenna is also designed for compact setup and transportation, weighing 9 kg and measuring 50 × 30 × 20 cm when folded, compared with 110 × 35 × 30 cm when unfolded.
The GRS-T300 provides a ground-based tracking antenna solution for UAV operators requiring long-range video and data communications through Simpulse’s SL300-R radio link technology.
