Fibreworks Composites is a U.S.-based provider of custom composite manufacturing and high-rate production solutions solutions for UAVs, robotic systems and advanced aerospace applications.
Unmanned Systems Technology (UST) is pleased to announce the addition of Fibreworks Composites to our global supplier ecosystem. Their new supplier profile showcases specialist capabilities spanning composite design, engineering, tooling, prototyping and high-rate production for unmanned aircraft and robotic systems.
Fibreworks Composites supports customers throughout the complete composite manufacturing lifecycle, from initial engineering and reverse engineering through to validated volume production. A key capability is the conversion of existing hand-laminated components into pressable snap-cure designs, helping UAV manufacturers increase production rates while reducing labor requirements and unit costs. Working alongside sister company Composite Factory, Fibreworks provides a vertically integrated solution encompassing engineering, machining, tooling, manufacturing, certification and quality control.
Key capabilities of Fibreworks Composites include:
High-Rate Press Conversion: Existing composite parts can be reverse engineered and redesigned for snap-cure press production, with press cycles of under 10 minutes and potential annual output of up to 30,000 parts per tool cavity.
UAV & Robotics Composite Manufacturing: Design-to-spec and build-to-print production of composite components, subassemblies and aerostructures for platforms ranging from loitering munitions and Group 1 UAS through to Group 5 aircraft.
Design, Engineering & Prototyping: End-to-end support encompassing design for manufacture, composite and assembly design, 3D CAD, finite element analysis, structural analysis and reverse engineering.
Machining & Tooling: In-house production of tooling, inserts and metallic hardware, complemented by finish machining, robotic trimming and surface preparation capabilities.
Scalable Production: Support for prototype, low-rate and high-rate manufacturing, including complete Group 3 aerostructure production at rates of 10–50 units per day.
Vertically Integrated Facilities: Extensive manufacturing, machining, clean-room, autoclave, bonding, assembly, painting and finishing resources support greater control over production quality, lead times and supply-chain risk.
With 115,000 square feet of manufacturing space, significant expansion capacity and more than 360 support personnel, the Fibreworks Group is equipped to support unmanned systems programs from early prototypes to production involving hundreds or thousands of units. Its facilities are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and operate an AS9100D-compliant quality management system, providing the production control and traceability required for aerospace, defense and unmanned systems applications.
