Triad RF Systems has introduced the Triad Astral product line, unifying its flight-proven radio frequency hardware into a single commercially available space portfolio.
The line features a curated family of TRL 9 operational amplifiers, bidirectional amplifiers, frequency-translating modules, and integrated front-end assemblies spanning UHF through Ka-band.
Built specifically for CubeSat and SmallSat platforms rather than adapted defense hardware, the modules address the size, weight, and power (SWaP), thermal, and shock realities of commercial space missions. The portfolio is software-defined radio (SDR) agnostic, designed to work directly with established commercial platforms including EnduroSat, GOMSpace, IQ Spacecom, and AAC Clyde Space.

With more than 600 delivered payloads across distinct customers and over 20 years of accumulated low Earth orbit flight time, the family represents the most-flown amplifier portfolio in the commercial NewSpace market segment. Flight history for the components includes SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare missions—such as Transporter-2, Transporter-4, and Transporter-5—alongside commercial constellation programs that span six continents of ground station coverage.

Frequency coverage spans S-band for IoT and 5G NTN uplinks, X-band for high-rate payload downlinks, Ka-band for broadband constellation architectures, and L-band for telemetry, command, and inter-satellite links. Standard configurations ship in eight to ten weeks from order confirmation, roughly half the lead time common among defense-heritage suppliers. Triad RF Systems operates as a U.S.-based, ISO 9001:2015 certified, ITAR-aware subsidiary of Norway’s Comrod Group, with hardware demonstrations scheduled for August 24 to 26 at SmallSat 2026, Booth 1639, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
