Gremsy and Sony Electronics are set to expand their collaboration to deliver enhanced gimbal and camera payload integration for enterprise drone operators.
Being demonstrated at the Commercial UAV Expo 2026, 1-3 September, 2026, the updated hardware-software lineup combines Gremsy’s stabilization systems with Sony’s imaging sensors and block cameras. The integrated solutions aim to resolve operational bottlenecks in public safety missions, critical infrastructure inspections, and surveying operations.
Among the featured products is the Pixy LR S-Port V2, designed specifically for Sony’s 61MP full-frame ILX-LR1 camera. Engineered for photogrammetry and aerial mapping, the V2 upgrade incorporates AirPixel’s Tag-E module in place of the previous Entire R3 module. This shift simplifies setup through ground control systems and enhances spatial metadata logging stability, speeding up the post-processing of high-precision 3D models and orthomosaics.
The collaboration spans several dedicated mission profiles. For large-scale mapping and topographic surveys, the Pixy Series paired with the Sony ILX-LR1 allows operators to cover larger areas per flight while eliminating manual alignment issues.
For utility and infrastructure monitoring, the VIO payload utilizes the Sony FCB-ER8530, offering 4K resolution at 30fps with 20x optical zoom alongside thermal sensors to identify structural anomalies from safe distances.
For public safety and search-and-rescue applications, the NDAA-compliant ORUS L payload integrates the Sony FCB-ER9500, delivering 4K/60p video output and 25x optical zoom for standoff threat assessments and surveillance.
