Amprius Technologies has been named a 2026 Best of Innovation honoree at CES for its 520 Wh/kg silicon anode battery.
The award, presented by the Consumer Technology Association in the Sustainability & Energy Transition category, recognizes a battery model that delivers more than twice the energy of many standard lithium-ion batteries at the same weight. Selected by an independent panel of designers, engineers, and industry experts, the high-energy-density platform is designed to provide extended flight times and increased payload capacity for the commercial, industrial, and defense aviation segments.
The recognition comes as the United States places an increasing focus on domestic drone capabilities and secure supply chains for mission-critical performance. Amprius is currently expanding its commercial relationships with customers who prioritize these high-performance requirements.
Among these partnerships is a collaboration with Nokia, which recently selected Amprius SiCore cells to power its drone-in-a-box platform. This deployment represents the first time Nokia has utilized silicon-anode battery technology within its drone fleet. To highlight the real-world application of the technology, a Nokia drone powered by Amprius pouch batteries is being featured at the company’s CES exhibit in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
As a leader in next-generation lithium-ion batteries, Amprius uses its Silicon Anode Platform to push the boundaries of energy density.
Visitors to the event can view the company’s full high-energy-density battery portfolio alongside the Nokia hardware at Booth #4275 in the West Hall throughout the duration of the show.
