Inspired Flight has released the new Sentera RTK PPK Module, a purpose-built solution designed exclusively for its IF800 Tomcat and IF1200 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
This upgrade is intended to raise the bar for aerial mapping accuracy, delivering precision of one to three centimeters for real-world survey and inspection work. The module is NDAA-compliant and blends Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) workflows into one compact package. The goal is to provide accurate data without requiring extra steps or complicated setup for professionals in mapping, inspection, environmental work, and agriculture.
The system features dual frequency, multi-constellation GNSS for centimeter-level precision. It handles image synchronization through PPS timing, which aligns each capture with exact GPS timestamps for cleaner processing and tighter reconstructions.
Pilots are given flexible options for correction sources during an operation. The built-in NTRIP client in Inspired Ground Control connects to CORS or VRS networks via a hotspot on the hand controller. Additionally, an integrated 915 MHz Microhard radio supports third-party base stations that output RTCM3, including the Emlid RS2 and RS3, and the Trimble R980. PPK workflows also allow users to fly without a live correction stream and refine accuracy after landing.
The module currently supports Sentera payloads, using a single USB-C interface for power and data. The system automatically detects a connected sensor and loads the camera panel inside IGC, giving pilots one place to monitor status and GPS fix. Support for additional third-party payloads is scheduled to begin in 2026.
The low-power module mounts cleanly on both aircraft. The IF800 routes the antenna through its underside coax pass-through, while the IF1200 uses a dedicated bracket and mounting cable. All necessary accessories, including cables, radio accessories, clips, and hardware, are provided in a dedicated SKB case with custom foam.
Mission planning and execution are supported by three modes. RTK NTRIP mode streams corrections from the controller to the aircraft. RTK Base Station mode uses the 915 MHz radio to broadcast corrections from a physical base or laptop. PPK mode records all timing internally and allows post-flight corrections using Propeller, Trimble, Emlid Studio, and other processing suites.
For missions that stretch beyond the reach of a network connection, such as many corridor or linear projects, PPK becomes a reliable option, allowing users to collect clean timestamp data across longer distances and refine positioning later. The RTK PPK Module allows crews from power utilities, survey firms, environmental researchers, and engineering teams to choose the workflow based on coverage, distance, latency, and job requirements.
Adding this module to the Inspired Flight platforms elevates what the aircraft can deliver for survey and mapping customers. The IF800 becomes a fast, compact tool for regular mapping work, and the IF1200 becomes a heavy lift survey platform that supports multispectral, high-resolution RGB, or complex LiDAR missions with precise positioning.
The RTK PPK Module and all accessories are available now directly from Inspired Flight. Each kit includes the GNSS receiver, GNSS antenna, integrated radio, aircraft cabling, ground radio, antenna accessories, sensor cables, a 6X mounting bracket, cable clips, and a custom SKB hard case.
