Xer Technologies has partnered with the Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), naming USI an Authorized Training Provider for the Xer X8 aircraft platform.
The collaboration marks a significant step toward aligning advanced drone capabilities with recognized safety and training standards.
Through this partnership, USI will develop and manage Xer’s global training programs, including flight and maintenance instruction, Learning Management System (LMS) content creation, and hands-on training at USI locations or customer sites.
The training program, aligned with ASTM F3266 and F3600 standards, ensures pilots and organizations are equipped to use Xer’s gas leak detection and powerline inspection tools effectively in complex, regulated environments. By delivering a comprehensive curriculum, the program supports confident, precise performance in high-stakes operations.
Josh Olds, President and CEO of USI, commented, “Partnering with Xer enables USI to expand its managed training services into the heavy-duty, long-range drone segment—critical for infrastructure inspection, mapping, and industrial operations. This collaboration blends world-class aviation technology with rigorous safety training, supporting scalable, risk-mitigated operations in commercial UAS deployments worldwide.”
Kristofer Skantze, CEO at Xer Technologies, added, “We’re thrilled to work with USI to ensure our customers receive best-in-class training and support. As our aircraft capabilities expand across sectors, this partnership provides our clients with the tools and knowledge to succeed from day one.”
The partnership underscores a shared commitment to scaling UAS operations through standardized, high-quality education. USI will support Xer customers through onboarding, mission-specific training, and flight data integration as part of its managed services model.
