MostaTech is set to showcase its latest Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOGs) and FOG-based inertial measurement units (IMUs) at IEEE INERTIAL 2025, highlighting advancements in compact, high-performance inertial sensing technology.
MostaTech will also showcase the G321, a new compact 3-axis fiber optic gyro with high-speed data output, along with the upgraded shock-resistant FOG VG2103S-3000.
The G321M is an advanced three-axis fiber optic gyro designed to meet size and performance requirements for inertial sensors. The FOG measures 53 x 53 x 36 mm and offers a 8kHz data output rate. It features three single-axis FOGs and a fully integrated three-channel ADC board with a RS422 interface. The G321M stands out with its low noise performance, an ARW of 0.025°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h.
Enhanced with advanced magnetic shielding, the gyro provides reliable operation in environments with high magnetic interference. Despite its advanced capabilities, the G321M is lightweight at 145 grams and consumes just 2W of power.
The VG2103S-3000 is an upgraded fiber optic gyroscope, now capable of withstanding shocks up to 3000g. The VG2103S-3000 model features low noise performance with an ARW of 0.03°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h. It can also endure vibrations up to 18g. The gyroscope is encased in a lightweight aluminium alloy housing with four flanges for secure mounting.
The VG221 fiber optic gyroscope is a small and light gyro, measuring ∅33x12mm and weighing just 15 grams. Consuming only 0.3W, it is highly energy-efficient, optimized for SWaP (size, weight, and power) parameters within the industry. These leading parameters are coupled with a low noise performance delivering an ARW of 0.05°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h.
MostaTech’s SWaP-optimized inertial measurement units combine its smallest fiber optic gyros with MEMS accelerometers. Both U121D and U123D deliver low noise performance with an ARW of 0.05°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h. Their accelerometers offer a 10g range, 0.2mg bias stability, and a 250 Hz bandwidth. Additionally, both FOG IMUs consume just 1.5W of power and transmit data via an RS422 interface.
The U121D measures 63x56mm and weighs 180 grams, featuring internal magnetic shielding that achieves high magnetic immunity of 0.3°/h/Gauss. In contrast, the U123D has a cylindrical form factor measuring ∅40 x 90mm and weighing 150 grams. It offers enhanced magnetic shielding with two levels of magnetic immunity: 0.3°/h/Gauss and 0.01°/h/Gauss, ensuring consistent performance in environments with extremely high magnetic fields.
MostaTech’s inertial sensors are low-SWaP, non-ITAR solutions suitable for space- and layout-limited applications including inertial navigation systems (INSs) in UAVs / UUVs / USVs / ROVs, and gimbal / camera stabilization.
