SES AI Corporation has secured a significant purchase order from Data Blanket to provide high-power, high-energy density, AI-enhanced Li-Metal and Li-ion batteries for specialized drone applications.
The agreement focuses on the deployment of advanced batteries to support AI-driven drones used in forest fire management and border patrol. These missions require rapid data collection and sustained aerial monitoring, where battery endurance is a critical factor. SES AI delivered initial shipments of the batteries in December 2024 and is scheduled to complete the remaining deliveries by mid-2025.
As a developer and manufacturer of AI-enhanced high-performance energy solutions, SES AI provides technology that allows drones to remain operational longer than those using conventional Li-ion batteries. The higher energy density supports deployment in harsh environments, including those encountered in emergency response and border security operations.
