H3AF

The H3AF from SES AI is an NMC, anode-free pouch cell with 3.1 Ah typical capacity, 11.8 Wh typical energy, and a nominal voltage of 3.82 V. Its gravimetric energy density is specified at 425 Wh/kg at 25°C, 100% depth of discharge, and C/5. The cell weighs 27.8 ± 1.0 g and measures 71.5 ± 1.0 mm long, 48.5 ± 0.5 mm wide, and 3.3 ± 0.2 mm thick at 0% state of charge.

The H3AF is specified for a 20C maximum continuous discharge rate and a 32C maximum pulse at 100% state of charge, 25°C, for 10 seconds. Its stated discharge temperature window spans -30 to 60°C, while charging is specified from 0 to 45°C. Brochure data also covers charging profiles from 0.33C to 3C, discharge behavior at 45°C, 25°C, 0°C, and -30°C, and cycle-life testing under both 150 psi and 0 psi conditions. Under the stated +0.2C/-1C test protocol, the cell exceeds 125 cycles to 80% SOH at 25°C with 150 psi applied pressure, while the 0 psi specification is more than 10 cycles. The brochure notes that discharge-rate capability testing is still in progress.
