Radionor Communications, a developer of wireless broadband technologies for UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and unmanned systems, has announced that it has been awarded a contract by aerospace and defense solutions provider Rohde & Schwarz to supply high-tech wireless long-range communications equipment.

Radionor’s wireless communications systems are based on phased-array antenna technology, which provides robust long-range capabilities as well as high data capacities. The high-stability data links are ideal for critical systems with demanding requirements and flexible deployment needs, such as those under development by Rohde & Schwarz.

Atle Sægrov, CEO of Radionor Communications, commented: “We are excited to be selected as a sub-supplier by Rohde & Schwarz. We already have a lot of Rohde & Schwarz’ advanced measurement equipment in use in our lab, as the company is known for extreme precision. As they are one of the top-notch companies with a unique brand within the security and defense industry when it comes to quality and performance, it is a big achievement to partner and we are extremely proud.”

Constantin von Reden, Vice President Market Segment ATC at Rohde & Schwarz, stated: “Rohde & Schwarz is pleased to now have entered into this long-term agreement, as we have been working with Radionor Communications for many years in various test and demonstration projects. The future potential for Radionor Communication’s technology in our projects is significant.”
