For over two centuries, engineers have depended on these conventional devices despite persistent performance challenges. Standard instruments frequently suffer from limited angular ranges, fragile physical sensors, stationary deployment constraints, or highly complex calibration requirements that complicate detailed testing workflows.
To overcome these historical limitations, the WindProbe 3D combines pressure-based sensing, high-speed sampling, and real-time 3D spatial tracking into a single handheld system. By leveraging a WindShaper wind wall alongside a motion tracking setup, the technology visualizes wind flow in full three-dimensional space to reveal how airflow behaves in open space, supporting critical aerodynamic evaluations such as real-world drone wind shear testing.
