In this video, Tyto Robotics demonstrates a controlled drone wind resistance comparison using the DJI Mini 4 Pro and a Holy Stone HS260.
The test uses a Wind Shaper wind tunnel setup, with each drone taking off in front of the system before the wind speed is gradually increased until the drone can no longer hold position. The video shows how each aircraft responds as conditions become more challenging, providing a visual comparison of stability and wind resistance.
During the test, the DJI Mini 4 Pro withstands higher wind speeds before losing stability, although it repeatedly displays high-wind warnings. Tyto Robotics also notes that as the DJI drone’s battery drains, it loses control sooner, highlighting the effect battery level can have on performance in demanding conditions.
The Holy Stone HS260 is shown handling lower wind speeds for a shorter period before being pushed into the net. The video also outlines the limitations of the comparison, including differences in drone manufacturing, sensor and balancing capabilities, test speeds, and the absence of gusts or wind fluctuations.
