In November 2022, Elistair’s tethered drone the Orion 2 was integrated within a new surveillance system developed in the scope of the NESTOR European project for border security.
The video above details how Lithuanian frontier guards tested new the system, aiming to prevent smuggling activities and illegal border-crossing with vessels and UAVs near the border between Lithuania and Russia.
Lithuanian police monitored the system remotely at the border station, coordinating interventions.
The Orion 2 provides real time surveillance feeds and secure data transfer, whilst being capable of remaining airborne for 50 hours at a time (up to 100m height).
