In this video, Tyto Robotics tests the DJI Mini 4 Pro drone under varying levels of turbulence using a 6×6 WindShaper, examining how increasingly challenging airflow conditions affect flight stability and control.
The testing uses controlled turbulent airflow generated by the WindShaper’s fan arrays, with the drone tasked with performing a 360° rotation at different turbulence intensities. At low and medium levels, the drone maintains relative stability, although maintaining its position becomes increasingly difficult.
At the highest tested wind speed of approximately 16 m/s, the drone struggles to maintain its position, with the operator reporting significant loss of control. The demonstration highlights the importance of controlled wind testing in understanding UAV performance limitations and operational safety.
