Voyis has demonstrated how inspection-grade underwater stereo cameras can support high-quality 3D modeling in challenging, turbid water conditions, where low visibility and suspended particulates can affect image clarity and feature detection.
During a field test at Mammoth Lake in Lake Jackson, Texas, the company deployed its Discovery Stereo Inspection Series camera on a VideoRay Defender Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to survey a known dive target following heavy rainfall. Despite the green and highly turbid water, the system captured data that enabled the production of a coherent and actionable 3D model.
The Voyis Discovery Stereo I300 combines calibrated stereo imaging, controlled lighting, high-performance sensors and Deep Vision Optics to improve feature capture, depth of field and stereo correspondence in low-visibility environments. Voyis VSLAM, powered by EIVA NaviSuite, further provides real-time data validation, coverage assessment and quality control, helping operators identify gaps before leaving the inspection site.
