Pelican Products highlights its role in the development of a modular Ground Control Station (GCS) case, created in collaboration with Sechan Electronics to support military operations.
The project centered on delivering a single custom case designed to house a command and control station used to remotely operate Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for defense applications.
Sechan Electronics provides command and control stations for the remote operation of UAS. The company required a protective solution that would enable the system to be fully mobile within a rugged, watertight, dustproof, and airtight enclosure while maintaining a single integrated configuration.
Existing solutions required multiple large cases and separate components to transport all equipment needed to make the GCS operational. These options were cumbersome, heavy, and lacked the level of integration required to simplify transportation. Military operations also take place in a wide range of extreme environments, requiring a solution that combines portability with protection.
Pelican Products developed a case designed to house a single integrated system, with size and portability as key considerations throughout the development process. The enclosure accommodates all components of the GCS, including processors, power supply, and cooling systems, within one man-portable case.
The case was designed to withstand impacts, water, and dust, and was tested to meet MIL STD specifications to ensure protection between operations. By integrating the entire GCS into a single case, Sechan Electronics reduced the space required for storage, simplified transportation, and freed up space for other essential equipment.
