Pelican Products recently launched its Next Generation Protector series, upgrading its namesake case line with advanced polymer formulations and modular ecosystems for extreme environments.
First introduced in 1976, Pelican cases have served as the benchmark standard across high-stakes missions ranging from the Artemis II splashdown to frontline responses in California wildfires. The Next Generation Protector series represents a fundamental re-engineering of the original case architecture, optimizing material chemistry and usability for modern technical trades, engineers, and creators.

At the core of the redesign is a proprietary HPX polymer material formulation that delivers key mechanical performance upgrades:

Enhanced Dimensional Stability: The series offers increased rigidity under load, maintaining a perfect O-ring seal even when subjected to extreme pressures during high-altitude transport or deep-sea deployment.
Advanced Durability and UV Compatibility: A refined color masterbatch process ensures the case maintains its physical properties and color fastness during prolonged exposure to high-UV environments, preventing the brittleness that plagues lesser polymers.
Beyond material science, the series transforms the traditional protective enclosure into a modular ecosystem. Hardware updates include heavy-duty mobility wheels featuring stainless steel bearings for heavy-load maneuverability, along with enhanced push-button latches that deliver a more intuitive, secure shear-lock.
To support complex field operations, the system incorporates a new suite of lid organizers, studio-case configurations, and integrated illumination. The ModLight Pivot offers hands-free in-case lighting delivering up to 18 hours of continuous visibility in mobile environments.
The Next Generation Protector series and its situational accessories will be available through authorized Pelican distributors and professional equipment suppliers starting this Summer.
