Micro-Ranger 2 USBL is a compact, self-contained subsea tracking system designed for professional underwater positioning in coastal and inland environments. Built on Sonardyne’s proven 6G acoustic technology and Wideband 2 digital architecture, it delivers reliable USBL performance in a highly portable package. The system can be deployed from any small vessel, RHIB, or dockside location to track divers, small ROVs, AUVs, or moored equipment with accuracy up to 5% of slant range. Its one-box design includes everything required for quick setup and operation, making it ideal for rapid response or mobile survey missions.
With a range of up to 995 meters and capability to track ten targets sequentially, Micro-Ranger 2 offers the same acoustic integrity as larger Ranger systems without their cost or complexity. A built-in rechargeable power supply supports over ten hours of operation, and the lightweight IP67-rated carry case ensures easy transport and field readiness. Supporting Sonardyne Messaging Service for bi-directional data exchange, Micro-Ranger 2 enhances communication between surface operators and subsea assets, delivering dependable tracking for research, inspection, and robotics operations in confined or shallow waters.
