Vigilant FLS

Vigilant is an advanced Forward Looking Sonar (FLS) developed to support crewed and uncrewed maritime platforms operating in confined, contested, and GNSS-denied environments. Designed for expeditionary missions and autonomous navigation, the system provides long-range underwater situational awareness by detecting seabed hazards and water column obstacles far beyond the capability of conventional navigation sonars. Using patented beamforming technology, Vigilant FLS delivers depth-finding performance at ranges exceeding 30 times the prevailing water depth, enabling vessels to identify underwater threats and navigational hazards before they become mission-critical risks.

Engineered for integration with Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), and crewed maritime platforms, Vigilant FLS generates high-fidelity sonar imagery and real-time bathymetric data for obstacle avoidance, route planning, and reactive navigation. The system offers obstacle detection ranges of up to 1,500 m and high-resolution 2D and 3D seabed mapping at ranges up to 600 m, while supporting operational speeds of up to 25 knots. A 120° field of view, seamless switching between sonar and depth-mapping modes, and TCP/IP data output enable straightforward integration with autopilots, bridge systems, and command-and-control architectures. Designed for both retrofit and new-build installations, Vigilant FLS provides autonomous and crewed vessels with enhanced underwater awareness for safe operation in dynamic maritime environments.
