SeapiX-FLS 5 is a 3D multi-beam Forward Looking Sonar (FLS) from Exail designed for obstacle avoidance, navigation safety, and underwater situational awareness across unmanned marine platforms. Derived from Exail’s proven SeapiX multibeam sonar technology, the system delivers real-time three-dimensional imaging and geo-referenced environmental awareness from the surface to the seabed. Its electronically steerable Mills Cross antenna architecture provides wide-angle 120° x 120° coverage, enabling accurate detection, tracking, and classification of underwater hazards and objects in demanding maritime environments.
Designed for autonomous and operator-assisted missions, SeapiX-FLS 5 combines real-time object analysis, forward-looking bathymetry, and obstacle detection probability mapping within an intuitive user interface. The system automatically optimizes detection, tracking, and classification processes while allowing manual control when required for mission flexibility. Suitable for mine and obstacle avoidance, navigation, intruder detection, and rapid environmental assessment operations, the sonar can be integrated onto Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs), subsea vehicles, fixed platforms, hulls, gondolas, and hoisting systems.
