Galaxy 1 and Gotonomi have renewed their UAV partnership to establish an expanded commercial framework for delivering managed satellite connectivity and communications solutions to commercial uncrewed aerial vehicle operators.

The renewed agreement builds on active, revenue-generating customer deployments across multiple commercial UAV programmes rather than representing an initial technology evaluation. As uncrewed operations increasingly expand beyond terrestrial network coverage, the combined proposition provides an end-to-end operational framework spanning airborne hardware, satellite links, service provisioning, remote monitoring, and continuous operational support.
Under the joint architecture, Gotonomi provides ultra-compact, low-SWaP-C communications hardware purpose-built for UAV and autonomous platforms, enabling resilient connectivity for command and control, telemetry, and mission-critical data. Galaxy 1 complements this hardware by supplying the managed connectivity and service infrastructure. This infrastructure combines satellite connectivity with Galaxy 1’s IBIS provisioning and service management platform alongside RTM remote monitoring capabilities, backed by global network infrastructure and 24/7 operational support.
Martyn Durrant, Chief Commercial Officer at Galaxy 1, said, “This renewal is important because it reflects a partnership that is already delivering tangible commercial activity. Gotonomi is an active user of our UAV platform and services, and we are seeing the relationship translate into real customer opportunities and revenue-generating deployments.
“Renewing the agreement gives both businesses a strong foundation to build on what we have already achieved. As the UAV market moves towards more complex BVLOS operations and greater commercial scale, we see significant potential to grow together by combining Gotonomi’s airborne technology with Galaxy 1’s managed connectivity, provisioning, monitoring and operational capabilities.”
Together, these integrated capabilities provide fundamental building blocks for managed Command and Control Communications Service Provider (C2CSP) provision. The system allows operators to manage connectivity, monitor service performance and availability, maintain real-time operational visibility, and securely route critical communications as fleet operations transition toward larger-scale beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) missions.
Matthew Hill, General Manager, Gotonomi, added, “Our relationship with Galaxy 1 has grown well beyond a technology integration into a genuine commercial partnership, built around understanding and responding to the real needs of our customers. Renewing the agreement gives us a strong framework to continue developing those opportunities together and, importantly, to provide customers with the reliable connectivity and support they need as they move from evaluation and trials into sustained commercial UAV fleet operations.”
By formalising the continuation of their collaboration, both organisations aim to support a growing pipeline of commercial UAV programmes and maintain commercial expansion as demand for resilient airborne connectivity increases.
