Blitz Technology has expanded its Spectrum family of tactical-grade gimbals with the release of the Spectrum 800Plus, a two-axis stabilized system designed to provide electro-optical and infrared capabilities for Group 1–2 Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
The newly released gimbal combines battle-proven stabilization with an optimized size, weight and power footprint. Its architecture is engineered for integration across vertical takeoff and landing, fixed-wing, multirotor, rotary-wing and Common Launch Tube platforms, supporting intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting operations.
The Spectrum 800Plus incorporates onboard high-definition image processing, a low-light sensor with 20x optical zoom and an infrared camera with a 36 mm lens. These capabilities are designed to support day, night and complex target-acquisition missions.
For geolocation and targeting, the system includes a standard 3 km laser rangefinder, with an optional 4.5 km version available. The rangefinder supports geopointing and the generation of actionable coordinates.
The gimbal is enclosed within a modular, spherical, IP66-rated housing designed for operation in adverse weather and high-particulate environments. It is engineered to maintain artifact-free performance at operational airspeeds of up to 70 knots.
