Sony, a global leader in imaging technology, will be returning for the consecutive second year to INTERGEO, Stuttgart, 24-26th September.

Sony and Gremsy, a leader in gimbal technology, will be demonstrating the latest addition to their line-ups aimed at plug-and-play solutions for drone users and manufacturers:

The Pixy LR S-Port gimbal, developed for a direct integration with Sony’s dedicated drone camera, the ILX-LR1, brings agility, reliability and lightness to any drone payload to further optimize drone operation in terms of flight time versus data capture and data availability for processing.

Gremsy are one the most established gimbal manufacturers in the market, and close collaboration between Sony and Gremsy for the past two years has led to the development of all-in-one solutions for different use cases and different drone platforms.

These solutions are seamlessly integrated, lightweight and with a compact design, to optimize payload and environmental footprint.

In the context of a growing need for high-quality imaging from professional and commercial drone users, Sony developed the ILX-LR1 camera by listening to partner and market requests, bringing Sony imaging technology to the market in a light form factor and dedicated features.

For the Sony ILX-LR1 camera, Gremsy developed a gimbal, the PIXY LR (Standard version) with full customization capabilities specialized for professional drone makers and a Pixy LR S-Port, designed for users who want a plug-and-play solution that facilitates the payload-swift process for easy integration with existing drone workflows.

In July this year, the PIXY MR gimbal was released, expanding ILX-LR1 gimbal possibilities to major drone platforms. The solution supports all compatible Pilot, camera, and gimbal control functions and offers a variety of lenses for excellent images.

The existing Pixy-LR, Pixy-LR S-Port and Pixy MR serve both drone professionals and more amateur end-users.

The Sony ILX-LR1 is built around a 61 Megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS imaging sensor and Sony’s exclusive BIONZ XR processors, which can deliver images continuously at up to three frames per second for an extended period and 8 fps in burst if required. The camera body is 74 x 100 x 42.5mm in size and 243g, with screw mounts front, back, side, top, and bottom for fitting to different frames (as well as a standard UNC 1/4in tripod mount for ground operation or presetting in the lab).
