SightLine Video Processing with Videology CameraSightLine Applications has added new compatibility to its video processing solutions for UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and unmanned systems with the Videology 25Z2.4-36X camera. The 36X optical zoom block camera, which features a Sony IMX392LQR global shutter sensor, is compatible with SightLine’s 1500-OEM, 3000-OEM, and 4000-OEM hardware platforms.

When combined with SightLine video processing technology, Videology’s 25Z2.4-36X is ideal for high-end UAV applications where global shutter cameras are essential due to high motion and vibration. Onboard video processor integration with an advanced camera system provides low-latency tracking feedback that is critical for fast gimbal pointing.

SightLine’s video processors allow integrators to take advantage of features that would traditionally require multiple boards, such as stabilizing and tracking, OSD (on-screen display), recording and encoding. The benefits of the combination with Videology’s high-quality global shutter camera include:

  • Global shutter eliminates inter-frame rolling shutter effects
  • Integrated zoom lens with autofocus and narrow FOV <2.0 deg – ideal for surveillance applications
  • Fast shutter speeds (ext.-trigger) as fast as 50µs
  • Full HD performance and the ability to support multiple digital video inputs (e.g. daylight and IR ) and multiple video outputs (Ethernet streaming H.264 / H.265, HDMI and HSDSI)

Mark Zimmerman, Director of Business Development at SightLine, commented: “Having Videology’s 25Z2.4-36X in our list of compatible cameras expands who we can work with. For aerial applications, we love to recommend high-quality global shutter cameras. This creates an exciting partnership for how we can make continuous improvements, as we work with Videology and their customers.”

Carol Ethier, CEO of Videology Imaging Solutions, said: “Videology is excited to see our new Global Shutter 36X Zoom block camera qualified to integrate with all Sightline platforms. We look forward to assisting SightLine clients with this camera module and hope to expand our list of Sightline-approved cameras, as we offer block cameras ranging from 10X to 40X optical zoom.”
