VectorNav Technologies has been named in the Marine Technology Reporter 100 (MTR 100), a list of the 100 leading companies serving the global maritime market.
Marine Technology Reporter, the world’s largest audited circulation magazine to cover the marine technology market, evaluates and ranks marine technology companies worldwide to create the MTR 100 list of technology leaders. This is VectorNav’s first appearance in the MTR 100.
VectorNav was chosen based on its work with a wide variety of companies and government and research organizations for providing navigation solutions using their line of VN-100 and VN-200 miniature navigation sensors. VectorNav’s VN-100 miniature MEMS-based Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) is being used in a variety of maritime applications, mainly Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s) and other underwater vehicles. In addition to the VN-100, VectorNav recently released the VN-200 GPS-aided inertial navigation system (GPS/INS). The VN-200 provides a highly accurate GPS-aided position, velocity and attitude solution and is well-suited for motion sensing of commercial, military and personal surface vessels and ships as well as stabilization for antenna tracking. VectorNav is also beginning to work with customers on developing solutions around the VN-200 which integrate external position measurements to provide more robust underwater navigation capabilities.
John Brashear, VectorNav’s President said, “We’re very pleased that Marine Technology Reporter has recognized us for our work supporting and providing solutions to the maritime market and we extend our thanks to their editors and staff for this recognition. We look forward to continuing our efforts in this field and developing products that meet the demanding and evolving needs of this market.”
