He explains how the Velaris 200 combines the satcom modem and antenna in a single IP-rated unit, connecting through the top of the airframe for power and Ethernet.
Hill also outlines the Velaris Multi-Link, which combines Gotonomi’s satcom modem with an off-the-shelf LTE modem to provide redundant communications options. He discusses the associated antenna configuration and explains that Gotonomi terminals operating on the Viasat L-band network offer satcom data rates of up to 200 kbit/s.
