This video from Gotonomi, a developer of miniaturized Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and cellular connectivity solutions, features Matthew Hill, General Manager of Gotonomi, discussing the company’s plans for scaling and its position in the market for critical C2 communications using the Viasat Velaris service.
Hill explains that Gotonomi has manufactured 160 terminals so far, which are now in evaluation and commercial service with key customers and partners. While all terminals were initially produced at Gotonomi’s TTP facilities in Cambridge, the company is now working with a UK-based contract electronics manufacturer to support larger-scale production, with additional manufacturing capacity available in India, the Americas, and Brazil if needed.
Gotonomi also supports key partners in evaluating and developing technology, while enabling drone operators to deploy SATCOM-enabled solutions. For example, Air6 Systems uses Gotonomi Valaris terminals to operate satellite-enabled drones for commercial missions.
Hill highlights that the Viasat Velaris network’s key differentiator is 200 kbps on a background service, which allows transmission of both C2 and payload data. He also mentions real-time video transmission over the Gotonomi Valaris terminal.
Gotonomi emphasizes its focus on the professional and commercial market, building on Viasat’s legacy of providing safety-critical services to maritime and commercial aviation sectors.
