This video from ALSEAMAR, a developer of underwater solutions for defense, ocean science and marine energy applications, showcases its SEAEXPLORER autonomous underwater glider.
Utilizing variable-buoyancy propulsion, SEAEXPLORER vehicles move silently up and down the water column. The glider can be equipped with a wide range of payloads to support missions such as oceanographic data collection, rapid environmental assessment, acoustic monitoring, and maritime defense applications.
The configuration shown features a four-hydrophone array capable of classifying underwater acoustic signatures, supporting applications such as marine life monitoring, surveillance, and the detection of potential underwater threats.
