The Iron Series from Hollyway, a developer of AI-driven autonomous drones for industrial applications, is a complete drone-in-a-box solution comprising an industrial-grade Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), an automated docking station, and a cloud-based control platform.
The Iron Series UAV measures 465 × 465 × 345 mm, while the docking station measures 98 × 149 × 161 cm when open. The UAV has a weight of 2,100 g with battery and 1,120 g without battery.
Automated Docking & Battery Management
The Iron Series temperature-controlled docking station supports fully automated battery and payload replacement within 50 seconds. Each dock features four battery packs, enabling human-free charging and automated swapping between a choice of three different interchangeable payload pods.
The dock also functions as an RTK base station, enabling centimeter-level positioning accuracy for drones. Core dock components are rated IP65 for protection against dust and rain.
Multiple docks can be configured to form a coordinated relay network, enabling synchronized patrol operations and long-distance leapfrog missions.
UAV Performance & Onboard AI
Hollyway’s Iron Series UAV provides a maximum flight time of 52 minutes on a single battery charge. The AI-powered drone operates within a temperature range of -35°C to 60°C and is rated IP55 for dust and water resistance. It is capable of operating in Force 7 winds.
An onboard embedded computing platform delivers up to 100 TOPS of processing power. This supports omnidirectional visual perception with no blind spots and obstacle avoidance capable of detecting and avoiding physical barriers within a 50 m range, ensuring safe and uninterrupted flight.
Dual-Mode Communications
The system features a dual-link Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) communications system with dual-mode data transmission, enabling seamless switching between 4G/5G cellular networks and microwave transmission.
4G/5G cellular connectivity is used in urban areas, while microwave transmission supports communication ranges of up to 15 km in regions with poor signal.
All data transmission is encrypted, with the UAV also supporting multi-GNSS compatibility, including GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and Beidou.
Interchangeable Payload Pods
The Iron Series supports automated swapping of interchangeable payload pods, allowing rapid reconfiguration between missions. Available options include a visible light and infrared pod featuring a 48 MP visible light sensor and 640 × 512 infrared resolution, with support for 3D modeling photography.
A visible light pod is also available, incorporating a 1-inch CMOS sensor with 20 MP resolution and support for precise 3D modeling photography. In addition, a loudspeaker pod supports real-time calls, text-to-speech playback, and multiple recording modes, delivering a maximum volume of 120 dB at 1 m and a maximum range of 150 m (70 dBm TX power).
HOPE Control Platform
The Iron Series is supported by the Hollyway Operation Platform and Ecosystem (HOPE), a cloud-based control platform that incorporates a suite of algorithms to provide an integrated operations management and control system.
Featuring a 4D holographic interface, HOPE supports automatic mission planning and mapping, remote task assignment, autonomous route optimization, and machine-learning-powered data analysis.
Collected data is transmitted from the dock and processed using cloud-based computing and AI. The platform supports automated analytics, reporting, and automatic 3D model and digital twin generation using integrated AI, 3D scanning, and 3D Gaussian technology.
