Benthos Underwater Acoustic Modems
Benthos acoustic modems exchange data and commands between subsea equipment and surface stations, and between underwater instruments. The range includes self-contained and OEM units with different depth ratings, power arrangements, and frequency bands. Data rates vary by modem and operating mode. BlueStreamX2 raises the WideBand C data rate to 4,800 bit/s across ATM, Compact Modem, and Ultra Compact Modem families. Janus protocol support enables interoperability with compatible equipment.
- Ultra Compact Modem (UCM): Self-contained model rated to 700 m or OEM configuration available to 6,000 m; externally powered, with Wide Band C and a typical range of at least 2 km.
- Compact Modem (CM): OEM or self-contained model rated to 1,000 m, with internal or external power and LF, MF, or Band C options.
- ATM-910 Series: Self-contained 500 m-rated models with internal-power ATM-914/915 and external-power ATM-916 configurations.
- ATM-920 Series: Self-contained 2,000 m-rated models with internal-power ATM-924/925 and external-power ATM-926 configurations.
- ATM-960 Series: Self-contained 6,000 m-rated models with internal-power ATM-964/965 and external-power ATM-966 configurations.
- ATM-903: Externally powered OEM modem available for installations to 6,000 m.
