SAND
Fincantieri’s SAND (Surface Advanced Naval Drone) is a multi-role USV designed for naval and maritime security missions. Its flexible, modular architecture supports autonomous navigation, surveillance, and mission assistance while allowing the platform to be configured around different operational requirements.
SAND can also operate as a mothership for AUVs, extending its role across coordinated surface and subsea activities. The USV has taken part in multinational demonstrations and exercises examining how unmanned platforms can be integrated into contemporary naval operations.
