Gaps M3 is a high-performance Ultra Short Baseline (USBL) positioning and communication system from Exail developed for accurate tracking, positioning, and communication with subsea assets in offshore and underwater operations. Designed as a compact and lightweight version of the Gaps architecture, the system combines advanced acoustic positioning with telemetry and modem communication capabilities to support ROV tracking, AUV operations, marine construction, and dynamic positioning workflows. Its omnidirectional acoustic array enables reliable tracking performance from shallow waters to deep-sea environments, including targets positioned above horizontal angles.
Built for integration into demanding offshore and DP class 2 and 3 environments, Gaps M3 supports simultaneous tracking and communication with multiple subsea assets while maintaining compatibility with Exail navigation systems and third-party AHRS solutions. The system incorporates wide-bandwidth acoustic signaling, real-time web-based mapping interfaces, and third-party transponder compatibility to streamline vessel integration and subsea mission coordination. Available in both export-free and extended-range variants, Gaps M3 provides reliable subsea positioning and communication performance for modern unmanned and offshore marine operations.
