Redwire Corporation has secured purchase orders valued at approximately $13.8 million to supply its Stalker Uncrewed Aircraft Systems to the National Guard Bureau in support of expanding tactical mission requirements.
The long-range, Group 2 Stalker platform will be deployed to train soldiers under the U.S. Army’s newest Military Occupational Specialty, the 15X Tactical UAS Specialist. This newly established role represents a significant structural change in military aviation by merging the traditionally distinct functions of UAS operator and maintainer into a single, adaptable operator. Instructors will utilize the modular, combat-proven aircraft to teach complex flight maneuvers, field maintenance, and multi-mission payload deployment, taking advantage of a system architecture engineered to be both sophisticated and readily learnable.
“As the threat environment evolves so do mission requirements, and the National Guard requires versatile operators who are trained on combat proven aircraft that are ready to field,” said Joshua Stinson, Co-President and Chief Growth Officer at Redwire Defense Tech. “The Stalker UAS offers advanced multi-mission capabilities and operational durability in extreme environments. We are incredibly proud to partner with the National Guard Bureau to equip guardsmen with the hands-on experience they need to ensure domestic readiness and overseas mission success.”
Once trained, 15X specialists are expected to embed directly within brigade and lower-level tactical formations, tasked with operating, maintaining, and rapidly troubleshooting Group 1 through Group 3 systems at the tactical edge. To standardize this high-tier instruction against realistic multi-domain challenges, the National Guard Bureau is stationing the aircraft across key regional facilities, including Camp Shelby in Mississippi and Fort Indiantown Gap in Pennsylvania. The deployment draws upon Redwire’s broader technology base, which spans nearly three decades of manufacturing expertise and flight-proven solutions in uncrewed aircraft, advanced optics, and resilient energy systems for allied defense and civilian programs worldwide.
