ANELLO Photonics and Mythos AI have entered a strategic partnership to develop resilient, plug-and-play navigation solutions for the maritime sector.

As maritime operations transition toward increased autonomy, the industry faces escalating risks from GNSS disruptions, whether caused by accidental interference or intentional signal jamming. To address these vulnerabilities, the collaboration combines ANELLO’s Silicon Photonics Optical Gyroscope (SiPhOG) technology with the intelligent autonomy software developed by Mythos AI. The resulting system is designed to maintain navigational continuity for both commercial and defense platforms when satellite signals become degraded or entirely unavailable.
The partnership focuses on a multi-mission open systems architecture, allowing the technology to be scaled across diverse vessel classes. Central to this initiative is the ANELLO Maritime Inertial Navigation System (INS), which is engineered to drop into existing and next-generation autonomy architectures. By emphasizing a plug-and-play design that supports standard maritime interfaces, the companies aim to reduce the engineering burden for manufacturers and accelerate the deployment of autonomous systems.
This integrated approach is particularly critical for the Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) market. As these vessels take on more complex roles in maritime security, offshore energy, and hydrography, they require dependable end-to-end navigation to ensure mission success in contested environments. The collaboration seeks to establish a new benchmark for GPS-independent performance by fusing advanced inertial sensing with AI-driven collaborative autonomy.
Dr. Mario Paniccia, Co-founder and CEO of ANELLO Photonics, stated, “Maritime autonomy depends on trusted navigation. As GNSS vulnerabilities become more visible globally, operators are seeking complete solutions that ensure mission continuity. By collaborating with Mythos AI, we are aligning ANELLO’s SiPhOG-based inertial technology with Mythos AI’s intelligent autonomy to provide a plug-and-play solution for resilient, GPS-independent maritime operations.”
Geoff Douglass, CEO of Mythos AI, added, “True autonomy requires more than just sensors – it requires intelligent integration. Working with ANELLO allows us to combine advanced inertial performance with AI-driven decision-making in a way that is practical and scalable for the maritime industry. Together, we are helping platform developers accelerate deployment while strengthening operational resilience.”
Beyond the immediate needs of USVs, the partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward multi-layered navigation architectures. By eliminating dependence on a single signal source, the combined solution offers greater operational assurance and future-proofs platforms against unreliable GNSS. ANELLO and Mythos AI intend to work closely with original equipment manufacturers and system integrators to ensure these navigation tools meet evolving regulatory and operational requirements.
