Xer Technologies has obtained key operational approvals for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights in Switzerland and Hungary, marking a significant milestone in the company’s European commercial expansion.
The approval in Switzerland was granted directly to Xer Tech AB, while the Hungarian approval was secured by its partner and customer, TP Aviation Inspections, specifically for operations utilizing the X8 drone. These regulatory validations confirm the technical maturity of the platform and enable the commencement of advanced drone operations across these jurisdictions.
According to the company, the inclusion of the X8 in fleets that have cleared national BVLOS requirements serves as evidence that the system meets stringent safety and performance standards. The approval processes focused heavily on the platform’s endurance, operational reliability, and technical specifications.
Erik Herlyn, CEO of Xer Tech, commented, “The operational BVLOS approvals in Switzerland and Hungary represent a strategically important value driver for Xer Tech. They confirm that our X8 platform has reached a level of technical and regulatory maturity that enables commercial deployment across multiple European markets. This strengthens our market position, lowers the barriers to entering into new customer contracts and creates favorable conditions for scalable growth. Overall, we view this as an important step in building long-term value for our shareholders ahead of and following the planned transaction.”
The regulatory assessments were conducted under the SORA 2.0 (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) framework. The operations were classified within SAIL I and SAIL II, which denote a high level of safety and low operational risk. Furthermore, the approvals utilized PDRA-G01 and PDRA-G03 templates, which are predefined risk assessments specifically for BVLOS operations in non-urban environments.
Xer Tech, which is currently undergoing a reverse acquisition by Renewable Ventures Nordic AB (to be renamed Xer Tech Holding AB), views these national approvals as vital references for its ongoing establishment in the European market.
The company anticipates continued collaboration with operators focused on advanced, long-range aerial missions.
