Sierra-Olympia Technologies introduces the Viento LWIR OGI, a new tool in Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) designed to enhance the detection of gas leaks in industrial environments.

Viento LWIR OGI.

The Viento LWIR OGI complements the existing Ventus (MWIR) OGI and is optimized for detecting leaks with higher emission volumes and concentrations. It is particularly suited for continuous monitoring applications where large, intermittent gas leaks may occur.

The system supports a range of integration options, including drones, robotics, and handheld devices, and is available in both a ‘core’ version and a ‘developer kit’ configuration that includes an Ethernet video encoder for streamlined implementation.

Key Features:

  • 24/7 continuous operation
  • High-performance, cost-efficient LWIR infrared camera core
  • Multiple interface options: CMOS, USB-C UVC, GigE, SDI, and MIPI
  • Gas Enhancement Mode (GEM) available with Developer Kit
  • Compact, durable, and versatile design

Long-Wave Infrared (LWIR) technology offers a reliable and economical approach to continuous gas leak detection, particularly for applications involving higher emission levels. Its ability to operate continuously across a range of environmental conditions supports use in locations where unattended monitoring is essential.

By using LWIR, operators can efficiently detect potential leaks, reduce safety hazards, and maintain regulatory compliance, without the higher costs often associated with more complex systems.

The Viento LWIR OGI is well-suited for monitoring at well pads, tank farms, gas processing facilities, pipelines, and refineries. Its uncooled technology provides a lower total cost of ownership and improved long-term reliability.
