1. Meller Optics Introduces Flat Sapphire Windows Suited for Commercial Aircraft & Drones

Meller Optics has introduced custom fabricated sapphire windows in large size and various shapes suitable for use in military weapon systems, commercial aircraft, and drones.

Meller Flat Sapphire Windows can withstand fast moving dirt, sand, water, and most chemicals, and can include multi-spectral antireflective coatings to meet salt fog requirements. Mounting options such as stepped edges, elliptical edge shaping, and holes, slots, and wedges are offered.

FlyingBasket has become the first in Italy to be granted a Light UAS Operator Certificate by the Italian aviation authority, Ente Nazionale Per L’Aviazione Civile (ENAC).

This milestone marks a significant step forward for FlyingBasket. The LUC ( Light UAS operator Certificate) permits the operator holding the certificate to approve its operations. 

The certificate is granted to an operator after a demonstration of a high level of maturity, safety, and compliance.

Robosys Automation has launched an AI-supported USV Autopilot at Oceanology International 2024 in London, UK. The new VOYAGER AI Autopilot converts new build or retrofit unmanned surface vessels (USVs) into fully autonomous craft.

The Robosys Autopilot module – reportedly the first in its class – seamlessly integrates with Robosys’ Voyager AI Survey, being part of the VOYAGER AI software suite, and which enables remote and autonomous heading and speed control as well as various other mission modes for navigation and vessel control specifically for hydrographic and oceanic surveying operations.

Kongsberg Geospatial is partnering with Echodyne to integrate radar technology into the IRIS Terminal, enhancing Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) applications.

The collaboration will provide enhanced situational awareness to unmanned aerial system operators by visualizing all airspace movement, cooperative and noncooperative, to ensure safe and reliable UAS operations.
