Designed for small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) operations, the CM142 by Ascent Vision Technologies (AVT), has been awarded Silver at this year’s Edison Awards, under the Aerospace Flight Technologies category.

The lightweight gyro-stabilized payload combines HD electro-optical imagery with crisp LWIR for accurate long range hotspot detection, object identification and large area situational awareness, which is critical for emergency response operations.

For several years, AVT’s partner, Bridger Aerospace, has fielded the CM142 for aerial wildfire operations and their platforms are actively supporting firefighting operations in the U.S.

The award reinforces the importance of aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance during wildfire response and management operations and recognises the CM142’s effective ISR capabilitiy when undertaking this critical work.
