Sky Power SP-275 FI TS UAS engineSky Power, a manufacturer of 2-stroke combustion engines and Wankel engines for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), has announced that it has successfully been recertified against the ISO 9001:2015 standards for quality management. The company’s customer care and efficient, sustainable, lean manufacturing process contributed to the successful recertification.

Sky Power manufactures a range of high-performance UAV engines that run on both gasoline and heavy fuels, with both carburettor and fuel-injection designs. The German company recently opened a subsidiary in the US as part of a business expansion strategy.

Karsten Schudt, managing director of Sky Power GmbH, commented: “The recognition is important for us as an international company. ISO 9001 defines the requirements for quality management. UAS customers expect the highest quality, due to regulations for the use of UAS in different applications and of course because of the costs of unmanned systems. It is important for us that an external certification organization attests again that we fulfil these self-imposed requirements.”
