Vantage Robotics has unveiled the full integration with ATAK UAS tool into the Vision2 controller, a game-changing advancement that gives warfighters enhanced control not only over Vantage drones, but also over a wide range of UAS on the battlefield.
After 4-years of close collaboration with the TAK Product Center’s TAK UMS developers, Vantage Robotics has built one of the most robust and mission-ready integrations available today, designed to maximize situational awareness, interoperability, and tactical advantage. The result is faster decisions, greater situational awareness, and a tactical edge when it matters most.
When asked whether their drones are integrated into the Android Tactical Awareness Kit (ATAK), Vantage Robotics assures users that they go further than simple integration to lead the industry in supporting the warfighter and other federal agencies with drones that are integrated into the TAK ecosystem.
The company loads both the core platform ATAK and the UAS Tool plugin onto the Vision2 controller to fly the Vantage family of drones or any drone integrated with Vision2 GCS. Additionally, Vision2 is loaded with the SIT(X) plugin to become a node on the organization’s TAK server and configured to distribute video via RTSP or SRT through a Video Management Server such as GvStreamer.
Vision2 allows users to connect to multiple networks simultaneously such as a Microhard digital data link (DDL) to the Vesper or Trace aircraft, while maintaining a WiFi connection to the TAK Server and the Video Management System (VMS) to deliver information beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) to a tactical operations center (TOC).
With all these programs loaded directly onto the Vision2 GCS, it eliminates the challenges that arise when drone operators are forced to juggle multiple devices by consolidating all TAK functionality onto one device.
Instead of forcing operators to juggle a remote controller in one hand and a separate device for ATAK in the other, the Vision2 GCS comes pre-loaded with both the core ATAK platform and the UAS Tool plug-in needed to fly Vantage drones, all on a single device.
No workarounds. No clunky integrations. Just efficient performance.
While many solutions rely on complicated software bridges or secondary devices, Vantage Robotics took a different path. By loading ATAK natively onto the Vision2 controller and Vesper drone system, operators get a streamlined experience, flying missions and managing tactical awareness from one familiar interface.
This isn’t just a concept – watch the latest demo where ATAK and the UAS Tool run directly on the Vision2 GCS, effortlessly controlling the Vesper drone in a live environment.
The Vision2 GCS is a universal mobile command center for UxS operators, packed with features like integrated GPS, interchangeable radios, a daylight-readable screen, and multiple control apps to adapt to mission needs. It is also lightweight, just 625 grams, while maintaining a rugged, NDAA-compliant design built for the toughest environments.
Vesper
Your Eyes in the Sky, Even When the Lights Go Out
Vesper is Vantage Robotics’ answer to short-range reconnaissance. Designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) field operators, Vesper delivers with a 3-axis stabilized tri-sensor payload, nearly 60 minute flight times, outstanding low-light performance, unmatched acoustic stealth, and it’s proudly American-made.
Now fully integrated with ATAK via the Vision2 GCS, Vesper gives operators the tactical edge, offering reliable aerial reconnaissance even in the most challenging conditions.
