Sound Velocity Measurement Systems
Teledyne Marine offers fixed-point measurement with the RESON SVP 70 and underway profiling with rapidCAST. The SVP 70 measures sound velocity at the sensor location, while rapidCAST automates survey-vessel profiling with a selected probe.
- RESON SVP 70: Titanium fixed-mount sound velocity probe for fixed installation in underwater and surface environments. Uses direct-path ultrasonic measurement with temperature and pressure compensation; rated to 6,000 m.
- rapidCAST: Automated system for underway sound velocity casts from a survey vessel at speeds up to 12 knots. Profiles beyond 500 m at 5 knots or to 1,200 m at stationary or low towing speeds; accepts a user-supplied probe or Valeport rapidSV.
