MetaCam Air 3 is SKYLANDX's next-generation handheld reality-capture system, built around an in-house-developed 360° × 240° LiDAR engineered specifically for survey-grade data acquisition, rather than adapted from automotive or robotics sensors. The wide field of view covers both floor and ceiling in a single pass, while a smaller laser spot and a high point rate deliver denser, more precise point clouds across every surface.
The LiDAR is paired with dual 50MP panoramic color cameras, a 48MP forward-facing camera for high-resolution detail, and a dedicated global-shutter camera for V-SLAM. Proprietary SOTA-SLAM keeps tracking stable even in repetitive or feature-sparse interiors, so the system captures broad visual context and fine detail within the same scan.
For positioning, Air 3 supports network RTK via NTRIP, local RTK via UHF radio, PPK, and ground-control-point workflows, with a removable RTK module and a magnetically attached UHF radio that let users configure the system per project. A redesigned exterior adds the Mars Ring — a real-time visual indicator of SLAM accuracy and system status — along with one-button scan start, making field capture faster to start and easier to monitor.
