LightIR 15-75 mm f/1.2

The Ophir® LightIR 15-75 mm f/1.2 Low-Germanium LWIR Zoom Lens is a motorized continuous LWIR zoom lens engineered for high-performance thermal imaging in size-, weight-, and power-constrained unmanned platforms.

Developed as a re-engineered optical solution that reduces reliance on germanium, the lens helps mitigate material availability concerns and supply-chain risks while maintaining imaging performance across demanding operational environments. Optimized for VGA 10-12 µm uncooled LWIR detectors, it provides continuous zoom capability throughout the 15-75 mm focal range while maintaining image quality and focus consistency across the field of view.

With a weight of just 349 g, the LightIR 15-75 mm f/1.2 is suited to aerial and handheld thermal imaging systems requiring low-SWaP characteristics without sacrificing detection capability. The lens features motorized zoom and focus functions, passive athermalized construction for stable imaging across a broad temperature range, and durable hard-carbon anti-reflective coatings for the 8-12 µm spectral band.

Supporting vehicle detection ranges beyond 7 km, the lens is suitable for unmanned aircraft, perimeter monitoring, security surveillance, infrastructure inspection, and other thermal sensing applications that demand long-range performance, environmental durability, and reliable operation.
