Integrated propulsion solution for 20 – 25 kg fixed-wing drones

IPET Systems' IV (7215) is an integrated propulsion system that has been designed specially for fixed-wing drones with MTOWs of 20 to 25 kg, with an ESC (electronic speed controller) installed directly onto the motor housing for reduced size and weight and simplified wiring requirements. The system provides redundant PWM and CAN control paths and supports both pusher and tractor propeller configurations, providing flexible integration across fixed-wing and VTOL UAV platforms. The unit features an innovative cooling mechanism with a shared channel for both the motor and ESC, resulting in more efficient heat dissipation and ensuring stable operation even at maximum continuous power.

The system incorporates a number of advanced safety features, including customizable adaptive propeller locking that automatically adjusts holding torque in response to external forces, thus preventing blade-to-ground contact. The stainless steel bolts utilize two set screws that are locked into the ESC base plate, preventing the bolts from loosening. Non-slip teeth provide enhanced grip resistance, and a detachable pin offers high shear strength, significantly reducing the risk of bolt shearing and nut loosening.

The integrated propulsion system also features a temperature sensor and magnetic encoder, allowing vital parameters such as motor temperature and RPM to be monitored in real time. The system can also detect overcurrent, overtemperature, overvoltage, stalling, and throttle signal loss.
