LOCTITE® 222 is a purple, low-strength threadlocker adhesive developed for locking and sealing small fasteners up to 6.35 mm (1/4") in diameter. It helps resist loosening caused by shock and vibration and is particularly suited to small-diameter screws manufactured from lower-strength metals such as aluminum and brass. The adhesive can be used on adjustment screws, countersunk head screws, and set screws where a lower-strength locking solution is required.
The threadlocker is suitable for fasteners on vibrating assemblies, including pumps, gearboxes, and presses. Its low-strength formulation allows secured components to be disassembled using ordinary hand tools, supporting straightforward servicing and maintenance without requiring specialized removal equipment.
